Requirements & Limitations

  • The same registered copy of Desktop QuickBooks on the same machine is used to process payroll for all companies using a single payroll subscription.
  • Only one company data file per EIN can be supported by QuickBooks Desktop Payroll. It will report errors if we will try use multiple company files under the same payroll subscription and EIN.
  • For all those companies which are added to a single subscription, the contact information and payroll administrator for the payroll subscription will be the same.
  • If an employee is paid with Direct Deposit , you can have multiple companies having separate data files with different EINs with DD (Direct Deposit) on the same DIY Payroll subscription.
  • Each Payroll service of QuickBooks Desktop has a limit on the number of companies that can be added to a single subscription. These limits are not based on the number of employees but on the company data files.
