How to set up manual payroll in QuickBooks

 
In case you have chosen not to subscribe to a QuickBooks Payroll service, you can set up QuickBooks to permit you to manually calculate your employees’ payroll.

The steps mentioned below need not be followed if you are a current subscriber to any Intuit Payroll Service.
 

Note :

When you have your company file established for manual payroll calculations, QuickBooks enter a zero amount for each payroll item associated with a tax.
 

Step by step process to set up manual payroll:

 

Step 1:

Open QuickBooks, go to Help > QuickBooks Help (or F1 on your keyboard).
 

Step 2:

Select the Search tab, enter “manual payroll,” and press Enter.
 

Step 3:

Choose the topic: Calculate payroll taxes manually (without a subscription to QuickBooks Payroll).
 

Step 4:

Go to Set your company file to use the manual payroll calculations setting, select the manual payroll calculations link.
 

Step 5:

Select the Set my company file to use manual calculations link.
 

Step 6:

  • lose and reopen QuickBooks.
  • Congratulations! You have successfully set up manual payroll in QuickBooks.
