How to Print Form 1099 & 1096 in QuickBooks Desktop

 

You need to be in single-user mode, and should have pre-printed 1099 and 1096 forms to do this. You always have the option to e-file your 1099 forms to the IRS.

 

Step by step process to print Form 1099 & 1096 in QuickBooks Desktop

 

Step 1:

Use the QuickBooks Desktop 1099 Wizard to certify all your 1099 information.

 

Step 2:

Go to the QuickBooks Desktop 1099 Wizard, at Step 6: select a filing method, select Print 1099s.

 

Step 3:

Choose the date range from which the 1099s were paid and select OK.

 

Step 4:

Choose the 1099(s) you would like to print and select the Print 1099(s) button.

 

Step 5:

Select the Preview 1099 button before printing to review and tick the alignment.

 

To align the form:

 

Step 5.1:

Select File on the top menu bar

 

Step 5.2:

Select on Printer Setup.

 

Step 5.3:

From Form Name, close 1099s/1096 from the list.

 

Step 5.4:

Select the Align button and adjust alignment as needed.

 

Step 5.5:

Select OK, and then click OK again to save your changes.

 

Step 6:

  • Choose the 1099(s) to print and click Print 1099(s).
  • Select the Print 1096 button to print the 1096.
