Step by Step Process to download the software update from within the QuickBooks Desktop
Go to File> Close Company/Logoff. In case you have opened multiple company files in QuickBooks Desktop, you have to do this step for every company file that you have opened.
Select File > Exit.
Right-click on the QuickBooks Desktop icon in the desktop window.
Select Run as administrator.
Ensure that you are in the “No Company Open” screen.
Go to the Help menu, Select Update QuickBooks.
Select the Options tab.
Click the Mark All button then Select Save.
Click the Update Now tab.
Select Reset Update then Go to the Get Updates button.
Once the Update Complete message appears close QuickBooks Desktop.
Go to QuickBooks Desktop. If you get the message to install update, click yes.
Once the installation is complete, restart your computer.
