SharePoint Integration with Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail
SharePoint Server 2013 can be integrated with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 for Retail in order to provide a configurable, flexible, and search-based web storefront. Such storefront is available to users on different devices like PCs, tablets, and Smartphones.
Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 for Retail offers a highly flexible, unified technology that helps shrink complexity for retailers. It also brings together multichannel management, store operations, points of sale, ecommerce, merchandising, supply chain etc. The same is made available as an end-to-end solution delivering full visibility across entire business operation in retail enterprise.
In this robust, end-to-end solution, SharePoint Server 2013 is used to implement an e-commerce channel. For this, a commerce runtime (CRT) component of MS Dynamics AX 2012 for Retail needs to be installed in your existing SharePoint environment.
The CRT component provides following –
- Comprehensive Shopfront services
- Ability to synchronize data between central Microsoft Dynamics AX installation in some retail organization and SharePoint web storefront.
Retail master data includes details related to products, prices, promotions, website-specific configuration, catalogues, categories, and loyalty programs. These details are set up in MS Dynamics AX and further propagated to a SharePoint repository.
