Task Actions in Workflow in SharePoint 2013
Task assignment plays a crucial role in many workflows in sharepoint 2013.hence, you can easily use two different methods for assigning suitable tasks from within workflow designer. Each of the created tasks will include a Complete Task button that the assignee can click.
Following are the options available
- “Wait for task completion” checkbox lets you determine whether the workflow should keep moving towards the next action post task assignment, or whether it needs to wait in pending state for task completion.
- The Associated Item box features a grayed-out appearance; however, it does not imply that it is not functional. By clicking the little ellipsis button available to the right, you can select various other lists in your SharePoint site.
At very first glance, it may seem as if you don’t have too many options to select from here, apart from determining the default outcome.
The Site Settings screen allows you to create following
- New workflow task content types
- New Task Outcome site columns
When you look into the Send Emails box, you will get different options for editing the task creation e-mail as well as overdue task e-mail, and the frequency of overdue notifications as well.
