SharePoint 2013 Document Library Template
A number of document templates can be created in a SharePoint Document Library to simplify tasks. In order to create a new template, you need to click the “New” button available within a document library.
In this tutorial, we will learn about all such document templates that can be created within a SharePoint Document Library.
This option simply disables the “New Document” button available within your library’s ribbon. Users will only have access to uploading documents to the library.
Microsoft Word 97-2003 Document :
This template creates a new Word document that is fully compatible with various versions of Office prior to Microsoft Word 2007.
Microsoft Excel 97-2003 Spreadsheet :
This template creates a new Excel spreadsheet that is totally compatible with different versions of Office prior to Microsoft Excel 2007.
Microsoft PowerPoint 97-2003 Presentation :
It creates a new PowerPoint presentation fully compatible with versions of Office prior to Microsoft PowerPoint 2007.
Microsoft Word Document :
It creates a totally new Word document with the help of new file formats. It is supported by Microsoft Office 2007 or its later versions.
Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet :
It creates a completely new MS Excel spreadsheet by using new file formats. It is supported solely by MS Office 2007 or later versions.
Microsoft OneNote 2010 Notebook :
It creates a new MS OneNote section with the help of new file formats. It is supported only by MS Office 2010 or later.
Microsoft SharePoint Designer Web page :
It creates a standard web page that can be edited using SharePoint Designer.
All document templates mentioned above can be easily created within a Document Library.
