Step 1 :

Navigate to the SharePoint site that you want to save as Template

Step 2 :

Go to Settings > Site Settings

Step 3 :

Under “Site Actions”, click the option saying “Save Site as Template”

Step 4 :

  • In the “Save as Template” page, enter the File Name and Template Name. In our case, we entered “Department Site” in both the boxes.
  • Select the checkbox displaying “Include Content”

Step 5 :

Finally, click “OK” to save changes

Step 6 :

  • You will see a page with message displayed as “Operation Completed Successfully” that implies that the site has been saved to the solutions gallery successfully
  • Click OK to return back to the site administration page.
