Step 1:

Go to Site Actions > Site Settings



Step 2:

Under Site Actions, go to “Delete this Site



NOTE: You will receive a warning requiring you final confirmation to delete the site


Step 3:

Click “Delete” to confirm deletion



Restoring the Deleted Site


If you wish to restore the website, follow below given steps –

Step 1:

Click “Go back to site



Step 2:

Go to “Recycle Bin” > Site Collection Recycle Bin



Step 3:

Click “Delete from End user Recycle Bin” to view the site previously deleted.



Step 4:

Select the check box corresponding to the website and click “Restore Selection



Step 5:

Click “OK” to confirm restoration


Checking if the Site Restoration is Successful :

To check the availability of the website again, proceed as follows –

Step 1:

Go to Site Actions > View All Site Content

Step 2:

Browse the list showing under the root site to find the site previously deleted
