vSphere Client (vSphere HTML5 Web Client Fling)

VMware announced the launch of the vSphere Client (HTML5) fling 2.0. Since from the first version, there have been approximately 18 updates to the fling with several features, and with final launch to v2.0.

The prime feature which comes with v2.0 is the new management UI for the fling i.e. Fling Appliance Management Interface.

This is a very simple user friendly UI that helps to:

● Update to the latest version of the vSphere Client in one click. The fundamental work for this was already mentioned in detail into v1.17, hence in case you’re already on v1.17, go to https://[fling-appliance]:5490/, log in with the appliance root credentials, and then click on the ‘Update’ button.

Kindly Note: Upgrade works irrespective whether your VC is on Windows or VCSA.

● Configure or Install your H5 client (Please Note: this UI only permits configuration with VCSA. VC on Windows still needs manual sequence of steps from the instructions)
● One click to Begin/Stop the vSphere Client (HTML5) interface when required


This UI has been appended to the Fling primarily to offer a mechanism for simple and easy updates.

Attractive Plans Available for Application Hosting

This automatic upgrade will work only if your vSphere Client appliance can reach the Fling website in context to download the new bits, hence if this access does not exist, you will still require doing the upgrade manually.
